Our Creative Writing Club and Mayor Rapp have teamed up to create a contest at the Vienna Public Library this Fall! Mayor Rapp has graciously agreed to sponsor our prizes. You write – you could win $25 or $50 gift cards to Regal Cinemas or Amazon.com.
How It Works:
- The library will release a writing prompt every Monday for 5 weeks, starting 9/18, on Facebook, our website, & in the library.
- Entries are due Saturday of the same week by 5pm.
- Include your name, phone number, and age on your entry.
- Write a 1 page* (8 1/
2 x11) story using the prompt and drop it off or email it to the library: cate@viennapubliclibrary.org. - Writers must live in Wood or Washington County, or have a Vienna library card.
- Three weekly winners will be chosen (kids, teens, & adults) and receive fabulous prizes (gift cards for movies and Amazon).
- Mayor Rapp will read the weekly winners’ entries the week of October 30 and award a grand prize for each age group!
* No rules about font size, spacing, formatting, handwriting, etc. We just need to be able to read it. You can enter for multiple weeks, even if you win one week. You will receive confirmation that we received your story electronically if submitted by e-mail.
