Here’s how the Challenge works!
Our summer reading challenge will begin with our Summer Reading Kickoff MESSTIVAL on June 5th, from 3-7pm. Come enjoy popcicles, participate in community art projects, and register yourself for the challenge! Each patron will be given a Challenge Booklet for the age group you fall under. All age groups apply, from toddlers to adults!

Then, it’s as simple as reading! The booklets you receive will have a reading log with symbols that represent 30 minutes of reading time. Just shade in the symbols when you’ve completed your 30 minutes and you’ve earned yourself a ticket towards the prize drawings at the end of the Challenge! Any type of reading counts, from audio books to magazines! Once you have filled in your reading log entirely, stop at the Library for a new log refill!

The Challenge ends on August 7th, where we will have a Wrap-Up Party from 3-7pm. There will be snow-cones and bounce houses for big and little kids alike! All participants will also receive a free book of their choice from a selection the Library offers. This is also where you will turn in your booklets and any additional reading logs you have filled in for last minute ticket entries. The winners of each age groups prize drawings will be announced on our Facebook page on August 11th!
