Join us this summer for A Universe of Stories! There will be different presenters, crafts and programs to attend every Tuesday throughout the Summer Reading Program. A list of summer activities for kids can be found below.

Babies (0-2yrs)

Blast off with Baby Storytime!
June 12 – July 17
Wednesdays @ 11:00 a.m. AND 2:00 p.m.

Come to each session and earn tickets for prize drawings. Complete our baby bingo board, which has lots of activities for you and baby to kick-start early literacy. Bingo completion is worth extra entries too. Prizes will be given July 17th!

Kids aged 2 – 5th Grade

Read as many books as you can this summer! Tickets will be awarded after every 2.5 hours of reading. come to the library to collect tickets and enter drawings for prizes.

Every participant will receive a book at the end of the Summer Reading Program and upon completion of every 5 hours of reading, a free food coupon.

June 11th – @ 2:00 p.m.
Galaxy Tie-Dye
Bring a shirt, sock, shorts, even a pillowcase and join us for Galaxy Tie-Dying! We’ll be headed to space with our galactic color choices for tie-dying the item of your choice!

June 18th – 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.Space Crafternoon
Enjoy a number of space-themed crafts with a Space Crafternoon. Crafts will include Galaxy Slime, Moon Dough, a Solar System necklace and more!

June 25thCOSI on Wheels!  – Energy!
This program will be offered at two separate times.

          – PreK-2nd grade @ 11:00 a.m.

         – 3rd grade-5th grade @ 2:00 p.m.

COSI on Wheels is coming to the library! Experiment with electricity, magnetism, and motion while you help COSI’s Inventor complete their greatest creation. Build circuits, create chain reactions, and move objects without touching them while learning more about forces and energy.

July 2nd – @ 10:30 a.m.Rocket Ship Parade
Decorate your bike, skateboard, scooter or roller skates and bring it to the library for an early 4th of July parade! Participants who dress up and decorate their transportation of choice will receive extra tickets for the prize drawings!

July 2nd – @ 11:00 a.m.Nancy the Turtle Lady
Meet Nancy the Turtle Lady and all her cool friends. Directly after the parade Nancy the Turtle Lady will be at the library with some of her creature friends! Come meet some turtles, snakes and lizards!

July 9th – @ 2:00 p.m. – Jeff Nicholas Art
“Jeff Nicholas entertains his audience with original illustrations, clever stories, humorous poems and out of this world “draw-along” characters.”

July 16th – @ 7:00 p.m. End of Summer Reading Pool Party!
Families of Summer Reading participants are invited to our annual Pool Party. It will be held at Jackson Pool (behind the Vienna Community Building). Prize winners will be announced at the party!
