**To clarify recent WTAP News coverage on our new program, Visually Speaking Saturday, the Library announces the following information:

As parents, we hate seeing our children unhappy– but when your little one is too young to speak, it can be difficult to know what they need. Research indicates teaching sign language to young children helps them self-regulate and express their wants and needs before they are verbal. That is why the Vienna Public Library is pleased to announce a new Saturday series featuring baby sign language beginning January 23 at 10:30 am!

Tune into Facebook Live on the fourth Saturday of every month for a sign language lesson. This 12-month virtual course gradually builds your knowledge of key signs, which you can use every day with your little one, as well as features Library resources to aid in your baby sign language journey. Monthly topics will include signs for animal friends, family members, outdoor fun, and much more! January’s introductory session will feature signs for common first words such as mommy, daddy, eat, and bath.
